About the Doctor
About Our Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Timothy J. Hardy earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1985, after receiving his undergraduate degree at University of Virginia. After completing an internship at Jersey Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, and a residency in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department of Providence Hospital, Washington, D.C., he opened his private practice in Chesapeake, Virginia in 1990.
Currently, in addition to maintaining his practice, Dr. Hardy contributes a monthly column to Tidewater Women, a popular regional magazine. The articles cover a variety of gynecological and obstetrical subjects.
Dr. Hardy has been the recipient of the following honors:

Mrs. Waddell joined our practice in January 2005. She and her husband, Neal, are natives of the Hampton Roads area and have now returned to raise their sons, Tyler and Ashton. Mrs. Waddell has earned several degrees beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Tech, a certificate in Microbiology/Immunology from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing, both from VCU.
Prior to becoming a women's health nurse practitioner, Mrs. Waddell worked as a registered nurse in the mother/infant unit at VCU Health Systems in downtown Richmond. She also served as a clinical instructor-adjunct faculty member through VCU's School of Nursing, where she taught students the necessary clinical skills to care for patients. Mrs. Waddell has served in many professional organizations such as the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honors Society, and the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners.
